A PALMFUL OF FATE
By Kamil Özcan
Fate plays with you in silence, softly — right inside your open palm,
It hides its truths like cunning whispers, veiled beneath a gentle calm.
When hope is gone, when least expected, you may find — a rose, a bloom, a scent of lavender —
But sometimes wild, thorny, shameless vines invade your life with no demur.
Fate hides in surprises — at times a poison, at times as sweet as honey's breath,
Now a shy and tender breeze, now a storm that screams of rage and death.
You never know, you cannot tell — it waits, it waits, then touches you so quietly,
But sometimes, like a deadly hemlock’s brush, it strikes — so savagely, so violently.
